Where the Historical Commission looks to the past, Brownstown's Planning Commission looks to its future.

In particular, the commission is charged with the important task of reviewing nearly every plan aimed at improving the community and helping it grow.

The commission accomplishes this task through a series of methodical reviews of all ideas, drawings and engineering plans for any and all developments and buildings proposed for the community.

In this way, the commission not only works to ensure that each plan successfully meets the needs of developers and builders, but also protects the interests of Brownstown residents.

In general terms, commissioners work with local businesses and county and state officials to help structure the community's future, matching today's development ideas with tomorrow's future needs.
