They may be separate entities, but the
Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) works with the Planning Commission to preserve
the integrity of the area's zoning ordinances.
However, the zoning board's work doesn't end there. Its members also work with residents who are looking to deviate from those ordinances. The ZBA attempts to balance the needs of the petitioner and the township in reaching decisions regarding zoning requirements.
