Maureen Brinker is a 13 year resident of Brownstown Township. She is a graduate of Michigan State University and a recently retired Taylor Police Detective, having spent over 20 years serving the public in various capacities as a Police Officer. She teaches at Schoolcraft College and at the Wayne County Regional Police Academy.

During her career as a Taylor Police Officer, Maureen was actively involved with the Police Union, and was elected to two positions on the Labor Union Executive Board – Secretary and Vice President. As an officer, she participated in numerous community programs such as Shop with a Hero, Safety Town and the Taylor Junior Police Academy. She is an active member of both community and political organizations, including the Wayne County Detectives’ Association, the Brownstown Democratic Club, and the 12th District Democrats. In addition to her position on the Board of Trustees, Maureen also serves as a Brownstown Election Commissioner.

In her personal life, Maureen is married, and a mother of three children. She and her family are longtime members of St. Mary Parish in Rockwood. She is very active in her community, volunteering her time at Carlson High School by starting the “Carlson Closet” clothing project, and she is a driver with Brownstown Meals on Wheels. In her spare time, she enjoys attending her children’s sporting events, reading, scrapbooking and going antiquing.
