Our Deputy Supervisor - Barbara Tipper

Our Deputy Supervisor, Barbara Tipper (formerly Barbara Warren), is proud of her family’s involvement in this community and enjoys playing an integral role in the growth of Brownstown.

Barbara served as a member and Chairman of the DDA (Downtown Development Authority) for four years.  She was then elected as a Trustee in 2008, appointed as Treasurer in 2010 and elected as Treasurer in 2012.  In January of 2016 Barb accepted the position of Deputy Supervisor.

Barb is a Certified Public Funds Investment Manager and a Michigan Certified Professional Treasurer.  Her experience as a private employer for over 30 years coupled with the relationships she has built with Brownstown’s residents, business owners, employees, elected officials and union leadership gives her the networking, leadership and management skills required of this position. 

Barbara is also a Michigan Licensed Real Estate Broker and has owned and operated Karnak Realty in Brownstown Township for 18 years.  She is proud to help people achieve the goal of home ownership throughout Downriver and Brownstown.

She also represents Brownstown on the:
-    Board of Directors of the Downriver Community Conference
-    Veterans Memorial Library Advisory Committee (Chairman)
-    Downriver Association of Realtors (DRAR) Governmental Affairs Committee, and
-    The DRAR Grievance (Ethics) Committee

Barb and her husband Rick Tipper have been active members of Woodland Church in Brownstown for 15 years.  They are also the proud grandparents of seven amazing grandchildren!
