Recreation

The Parks and Recreation Commission is dedicated to ensuring that recreational programs and opportunities are accessible to all residents of Brownstown Township. This is achieved by fostering public-private partnerships with local businesses, organizations, neighborhoods, Wayne County, and neighboring communities, and promoting volunteerism. The commission is committed to improving the well-being and quality of life in the community through recreational programming.

The responsibilities of the commission include developing and managing a diverse range of recreational initiatives that cater to the unique interests and needs of the residents. Prioritizing equity, inclusivity, and sustainability, the commission actively seeks innovative and sustainable alternatives to make recreational programming available to the community.

Through these efforts, the commission aims to enhance the physical and mental health, social cohesion, and overall quality of life for the residents of Brownstown Township.

Meetings

The Commission meets on the first Thursday of the month, at 6:00 p.m., in the Brownstown Township Hall, 21313 Telegraph Road (unless otherwise noted).
