Board of Trustees

Under this form of government, the supervisor's role is similar to that of a "weak" city mayor: He has an equal vote in matters before the community and has no veto power to reject proposals approved by the board.
All seven public officials face election every four years, with all terms of office running concurrently.
In addition to serving as the legislative branch of the local government, the trustees also serve in liaison capacities, working to bridge the activities of the various Brownstown commissions and the board.
