David Chapman

David Chapman has been a Brownstown resident for 21 years. He has served on the Planning Commission for 15 years, 7 of those as Chairman, and is now serving on the Election Commission. In the past, he has served as the Planning Commission liaison for the ZBA and Environmental Review Board.

David is a retired UAW Skilled Tradesman who was the UAW Joint Apprenticeship Representative (J.A.C.) at Rouge Steel. David was also the UAW Health and Safety Trainer at Rouge Steel. He worked as a Health and Safety Trainer Apprenticeship consultant for Severstal Steel as well as a Health and Safety consultant for AK Steel.

David was part of the Adjutant Faculty at Henry Ford Community College and on the Skilled Trades Advisory Board at Henry Ford Community College.

David is an award-winning photojournalist and a freelance writer.

David attended Wayne County Community College, Henry Ford Community College, Wayne States Center for Creative Study, and The Nikon School of Photography.

David and his wife Carole have one daughter and one granddaughter. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their friends and family. David’s hobbies include photography and classic cars.
