Building Official Charles Earl heads the Building Department, which oversees all of the building in the township from the initial planning right up to completion.

The department arranges and approves all construction permits and coordinates electrical, heating, plumbing and building permits and required inspections.

Drain maintenance is also handled by the department. The Townships Building Department is authorized by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to determine flood zones and building requirements for those zones.
