GREAT Program
The Gang Resistance Education and Training program was implemented in 1994. The program educates students about the risks of gang involvement, violence and much more. The program is taught in the Brownstown/Woodhaven and Gibraltar school districts at the middle school level (6th grade) and the elementary school level (4th grade). Nearly 25,000 students have participated in the program, which is funded almost entirely by private donations. The police department hosts an annual golf outing each July to aid in funding this program.
