Basement Flooding

If you experience a basement backup, please call the Brownstown water department at 734-675-4000 during business hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm M-F and our police dispatch at 734-675-1300 during non-business hours.

The Michigan Public Act 222 specifies the requirements. You must file a written claim with the Township within 45 days after the backup. Please include: the claimant’s name, address, telephone number, address of affected property, the date of discovery and a brief description of the claim.
